Schwing Receives Two Top 100 Products Awards

After evaluating more than 1200 products, the editors of Construction Equipment Magazine chose two Schwing products for their Top 100 Products Awards. According to a statement by the magazine, “We look for advances in technology, new product lines or significant improvements to existing product lines when we narrow down the awards to the top 100.”

The two Schwing products were the S 52 SX truck-mounted concrete pump with placing boom introduced at the World of Concrete 2007 and the modular octagonal mast for use with separate placing booms. The awards were given out at the World of Concrete 2008 in Las Vegas.
The S 52 SX concrete pump with RZ5 five-section boom combines the best features of Overhead Roll and Fold™ and Z booms and sets new standards for placing concrete more than 170-feet vertically and 160-feet horizontally. It incorporates Schwing’s exclusive Super X Outriggers® that set-up fast and maximize horizontal reach. The curved front outriggers telescope out and around obstacles while providing a compact and stable pumping platform.

Schwing octagonal masts are available in 6-meter modular sections and enhance portability compared to lattice towers and tubular masts. The octagonal sections can be assembled to free-stand SPB 28-meter booms 70-feet and SPB 37-meter booms 50-feet. Flange connections require 16 reusable bolts. The same octagonal mast works for all Schwing separate placing booms in free-standing, self-climbing and non-climbing slab-supported applications. A self-climbing assembly is optional and allows the mast to be raised in two-foot increments so the height of the mast above the deck can be set to extract the maximum reach of the boom and is not dependent on floor spacing – a major benefit over lattice tower-mounted booms.
