Mechanic/Service Tech

Division: Concrete Pump Repair
Location: North Branch, MN

Description:
Under limited supervision, repairs and rebuilds concrete pumps/heavy equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification (ASE, MACS) or further education as an automotive mechanic, preferred.
  • 2-4 years’ experience working with heavy construction equipment preferred.
  • CDL driver’s license with current health card preferred.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow directions and read instructions in English.
  • Technical knowledge of the equipment and tools is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Own a complete set of mechanics tools to include full set of standard and metric hand tools along with wrenches and sockets.

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot equipment to evaluate repairs that are needed on concrete pumps/heavy equipment.
  • Follow standard assembly procedures to perform rework and repair on manufactured equipment.
  • Disassemble, measure, reposition and install parts to reassemble unit according to engineering drawings, bills of materials, and standard work instructions as required.
  • Connect hydraulic lines and fill with oil in preparation for testing.
  • Test assembled parts or products to ensure the unit is functioning properly and meets quality specifications.
  • Follow established safety and environmental procedures.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical problems and complete appropriate repairs.
  • May provide work direction and training to lesser experienced department employees.

Procurement Engineer

Division: Schwing America, Inc
Location: White Bear Lake, MN

Description:
The Procurement Engineer supports New Product Development (NPD) to ensure there is a seamless transition into production by sourcing, quoting and placing initial purchase orders to meet demand requirements and aftermarket sales of cast, machined and fabricated parts. Participates as a key member on New Product Introduction (NPD) teams and represents the procurement function on assigned NPI project teams. Engages in the product/part development, supplier selection, part sourcing, price and contract negotiation, Item setup (SAP System), and part qualification processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required with certification in supply chain management preferred
  • 3-5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment buying steel and fabricated parts
  • Strong analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper acquisition opportunities
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Vendor selection experience, and ability to evaluate and apply corrective processes to suppliers
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and Just-In-Time materials management methodologies
  • Understanding of various strategies for materials placement and flow to maximize efficiency, reduce costs and increase inventory turns

Duties:

  • Participate in the New Product Development Process (NPD) to represent Purchasing and Operations’ interests
  • Provide clear project plans to ensure the Ops team is informed of the timing and status of product modifications or releases
  • Work with Insourcing Manager to ensure that make-buy decisions are seamlessly executed and decisions are in the best business interests of Schwing America
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to develop a strategic partner supply base that meets the business needs of the company
  • Request price and delivery quotations, select optimal value, and issue purchase orders and negotiate with prospective vendors
  • Participate in the new vendor selection process, as well as CAPA processes with existing suppliers
  • Manage commodities in SAP to optimize the supply chain and implement processes to minimize costs
  • Issue purchase orders with proper material specifications and drawings
  • Utilize SAP, reports and manual systems to ensure the timely receipt of goods, services and information
  • Manage parts shipments to achieve the desired on-time and quality performance level of all vendors
  • Inform manager of important developments, problems and related information for effective management

Senior Buyer

Division: Schwing America, Inc

Description:
Responsible for sourcing, quoting and placing purchase orders to meet demand for production requirements and aftermarket sales of raw materials and fabricated parts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in supply chain management preferred.
  • 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment buying steel and fabricated parts.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper acquisition opportunities.
  • Excellent customer service, project management, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Intermediate PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel), knowledge of SAP required
  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and coordinate complex activities
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and Just-In-Time materials management methodologies

Duties:

  • Develop and maintain agreements with vendors to ensure that all logistical details from forecast to payment are successfully executed
  • Request RFQs and negotiate for best value to meet customer and Schwing America objectives
  • Review purchase quantities/price breaks for best buy opportunities and group purchases into economical order sizes to obtain best price, quality and delivery performance
  • Monitor assigned SKU’s for inventory replenishment. Enter and maintain accurate purchasing parameters (lead times, replenishment location/method, and primary vendor)
  • Issue purchase orders with proper material specifications and drawings
  • Manage purchase orders for accuracy, delivery date, and expedite accordingly
  • Effectively utilize computer software, reports and manual systems to ensure the timely receipt of goods, services and information
  • Manage material and fabricated parts shipments to achieve the desired on-time and quality performance level of all vendors
  • Actively pursue appropriate actions to continuously improve the supply base.
  • Appraise production and sales of any part shortages, provide daily communication until the shortage is resolved, and analyze shortage to implement corrective action
  • Keep purchasing management informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management
  • Other duties as assigned.
