New Track-Mounted Concrete Pumps
Schwing has introduced track-mounted concrete pumps for specialized applications. “This new type of pump mounting results from our mission statement, CONCRETE SOLUTIONS TO BUILD OUR WORLD,” according to Tom O’Malley, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Schwing America. The new track-mounting system provides propulsion across rough terrain often encountered by foundation companies drilling cast piles that are filled with concrete. Besides negotiating unimproved job sites, the track system relieves the contractor of an additional tow vehicle with operator.
The track system uses two-speed hydraulic motors powered by the pump’s Tier 4 CAT diesel engine to achieve a maximum of 4.6 mph. It can climb a 42-percent grade and carries an integrated 100-gallon water tank and air compressor. The track system and pump functions are combined into one radio remote control unit. Paddle style-joysticks provide directional control and Schwing Control Technology (SCT) provides pump functions and diagnostics through a digital display.
Two pump models are currently available with the track system. SPTM 1250 and SPTM 2000 models offer up to 118 cubic yard output and 1568 psi on the concrete. Both use the Schwing open loop hydraulic twin cylinder pump kit with Rock Valve that provides low maintenance pumping and fast cleanup with less water.
