Schwing Expands Customer Options With Autocar Chassis

To further diversify its product offering and better meet customer demand, Schwing has announced the addition of severe-duty chassis from Autocar, LLC as an option for its 30-meter class machines.

Schwing will make the Autocar ACX Xpeditor chassis available for use with Schwing 32-, 36-, 38- and 39-meter truck-mounted concrete pumps. Offered in both 6 X 4 and 8 X 4 chassis designs, the Autocar ACX features a choice of Cummins diesel engines, ranging in power from 300 hp to 450 hp. Depending on model, a 5- or 6-speed Allison 4000 RDS or 5000 RDS transmission is available. All engines offer fully integrated electronic controls, cooled exhaust gas re-circulation, and low maintenance demands.

With a nearly 120-year history, Autocar was the pioneer in cab-over trucks and is currently the leading American manufacturer dedicated to severe-duty models of that type. The cab-over design is preferred by many for its superb visibility; ease of backing and maneuverability in tight areas; shorter overall length, which allows for the use of longer trailers; and tighter turning radius.

“Schwing has always been about providing its customers with the widest range of options possible,” said Tom O’Malley, Schwing senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We are pleased to include the Autocar chassis as another of those important, choices now available.”
