Schwing Offers High Pressure Pipeline System for SPB 35 Placing Boom
The system was designed to offer contractors a higher burst pressure pipeline option when the Schwing SPB 35 is paired with high pressure trailer pumps. The high pressure pipeline system utilizes 5” x 7 ga, single wall, heat treated pipe with a rated working pressure of 85 bar, and rated burst pressure of 260 bar. The system has heavy duty flanges with CCI lining and utilizes Heavy-Duty 2 Bolt clamps. The high pressure pipeline system now offers contractors a 53% increase in rated burst pressure over the standard pipeline offering with only a nominal weight difference.
“Several of our customers asked for this pipeline, particularly for projects where detach booms were being used in close proximity to high pressure stationary pumps”, states Tom O’Malley, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Schwing America. “Most high pressure stationary pumps have system pressures that far exceed the pressure rating of the pipeline on detach booms. This pipeline gives our customers a choice.” Recently, the Husky Energy $2.2 billion West White Rose Project was awarded to Pumpcrete Canada, who opted for the new high pressure pipeline on two new SPB 35s. The system will be fed by two electric SP 7000s.
