2024 World of Concrete Wrap Up

SCHWING had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 50th World of Concrete from January 23, 2024 to January 25, 2024 in Las Vegas. The World of Concrete expo is the industry’s largest annual international event, showcasing the latest concrete and masonry products and innovations; participation allows us to stay at the forefront of the concrete industry and better serve our customers. Highlights from the convention included recognizing business leaders with awards, displaying a restored 1977 pump, demonstrating the capabilities of our stationary and boom pumps, and hosting a fun in-booth happy hour.

SCHWING associates took time during World of Concrete to honor several industry leaders with the “SCHWING America / Tom Anderson Lifetime Achievement Award,” the company’s top award acknowledging a person’s outstanding contributions to SCHWING and the concrete pumping industry. This year’s recipients were Bob Haight (Opportunity Equipment), Roy Thompson (Champion Concrete Pumping), and Jim Toothaker (Independent Concrete Pumping). SCHWING also recognized top stationary pump resellers with the SP Dealers Awards; winners were Carl Walker (third place), Cory and Eric Worden (second place), and Chris Pernicano (first place. The awards were presented by SCHWING CEO Johannes Schulze Vohren and Tom Anderson.

Along with celebrating the 50th World of Concrete, SCHWING also commemorated it’s 50th anniversary at the convention. Mementos honoring the past 50 years of SCHWING adorned our booth, and archival photos were displayed on LCD screens and the S39SX.

A historic 1977 SCHWING concrete pump was proudly displayed outside the expo’s Central Hall. The pump was purchased from Mardian Concrete Pumping and beautifully restored by SCHWING CPR. Customers reveled in this piece of concrete pumping nostalgia by taking photos and signing the pump.

SCHWING was delighted to share the capabilities of our American-built SP 305 and SP 500 pumps with World of Concrete attendees. Our top selling S S39 SX boom pump was also on display.

Every day, SCHWING hosted a celebratory happy hour with pretzels, brats, and beer; music was provided by Mike Patton, SCHWING Service Technician and resident DJ.

That wraps up World of Concrete 2024! We had a wonderful time connecting with current and potential customers and sharing our passion for all things concrete.
